Up for sale is an exceptional piece of hand-woven folk art: a vintage coiled longleaf pine needle basketry tray platter. This beautiful piece measures 11 inches long by 7 inches wide and sits at approximately 2 inches deep.  Design & Craftsmanship: This flat oval serving tray displays remarkable artisan skill, highlighted by a striking double-swirl or double-spiral focal layout in the center. The bundles of natural pine needles are meticulously secured with delicate raffia stitching, seamlessly transitioning into an openwork Tenerife lace geometric edge pattern. It is an excellent example of traditional Southwestern and Southeastern tribal-style basketry (resembling Coushatta or Seminole works). Perfect for a display easel, tabletop decor, or hanging wall art.  Condition: Excellent vintage pre-owned condition. The structural coil work is firm, and the fibers remain highly intact with no broken stitches, unravelling, or dry rot.
